It is with deep regret that we have lost Karol Bilyj on June 22nd; he passed away in hospital. Our sincere condolences go out to Olga and the rest of the family.  Below is the Obit in the June 23rd edition of the Ottawa Citizen:

Tues. July 4th Summer Meeting:    * Partners Night *     Takes place at  Allan and Marge Haan's home, 5616 Doctor Leach Dr., Manotick, K4M 1B3 at 6 pm.  Dinner will be Bar-B-Q Hamburgers and Sausages (with  buns on the side), potato wedges, coleslaw, veggie tray and dip.

Tues. July 18th Summer Meeting:    * Partners Night *     Takes place at Gary and Krysia Coulombe's home, 5803 Rideau Valley Dr. Manotick, K4M 1B3 at 6 pm   Dinner will be Chicken Brochette (light on the spice) rice, garden and pasta salad.

Tues. August 1st Summer Meeting:    * Partners Night *     Takes place at Rick and Leslie Coates home, 6577 Marina Dr., Manotick, K4M 1B3 at 6 pm.      Dinner to be announced.

The Manotick Brass Ensemble is presenting “A Canadian Odyssey”, a musical journey celebrating Canadian Confederation with narration and slides by Kiwanian Brian Cromie Saturday June 24, 2017 at 7:00 pm. The event will be held at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 5533 Dickinson Street. Tickets can be purchased from Manotick Office Pro at a cost of $15.00.
 
Board of Directors Meeting at Hyfield Place: on Tuesday, July 12th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.  All members welcome to attend.
 
Blood Donor Clinic:  will be held on  Thursday August 10th at the Manotick United Church, 5567 Manotick Main St.  Need two volunteers from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, please contact Claude Laperrière if you can help out.

National Music Festival, will take place the week of August 7th to the 12th.  The Kiwanis Music Festival of the National Capital Region (Ottawa) is hosting the event. The competitors are winners of  music festivals accross Canada. 

We are looking for seven front of house volunteers on August 10th in the morning and 5 volunteers in the afternoon

We are looking for eight front of house volunteers on August 11th in the morning and 4 volunteers in the afternoon

If you can volunteer for a shift please contact Claude Laperrière.    

Manotick Soap Box Derby: will take place on Sunday, August 27th 10 am - 4pm on Beaverwood Road in Manotick. As derby co-sponsor we help financially and also provide volunteers to help run the derby.

Volunteers are needed: To setup the finish line area at the bottom of the hill on race day (7-9 am); to do race timing (10 am - 4 pm); reposition road closure barrier on Saturday evening (between 6-7 pm); deploying these barriers the morning of derby day (8-9 am); and venue cleanup after the derby (4- until completed).

Please contact Allan Haan if you can volunteer.

KC of Rideau: presents K9's on the Katwalk, a Fashion show for Dogs, on Saturday, September 9th from 1:30 to 4:00 pm athe Canterbury Recreation Complex, 2185 Arch St,. Ottawa.  Contact Jim Puskas at 613-746-1907 to register your dog or for more details.

Key Leader Arden Camp: will take place Nov 3-5, 2017 at the Circle Square Ranch at Arden ON.  Our club will be sponsoring a number of students from local highschools.  We will need drivers on Nov 3rd and 5th to drive students to and from camp.  Please contact Glenn Pushman if you can volunteer.
