Ben Sorensen QC, 1928-2017

It is with regret and sadness that we announce the passing of Ben Sorensen on Oct. 11, 2017.

He was born in 1928 in Glostrup, Denmark and came to Canada with his parents, four brothers and his sister just before the war in 1939. He met the love of his life, Joyce, in Halifax in 1950 while serving in the Canadian reserve navy in which he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He attended Queens and Dalhousie universities and was called to the bar in 1954, practicing law in Kingston, then in Ottawa for 43 years. With Joyce he raised his daughter and two sons, giving them an excellent role model and offering them every opportunity to succeed.

Ben was a member of the Manotick Kiwanis and served a time on the Board of Directors. Our condolences go out to his 2 sons & daughter in their time of grief. The announcement is in the Saturday Citizen. There will be a private internment but you can send condolences and tributes to www.capitalmemorial.ca
